About the events

In addition to the sights, sounds and activities already present at these amazing event locations, there was a host of specially created activities and challenges for the enthusiastic engineers of the future.

Students worked in teams and competed with each other on a series of physical and mental challenges designed to relate to the four ‘Technology for life’ topic zones.

The IET covered the expenses of winning challenge teams.

The dates

In and around National Science and Engineering Week 2008, the four, fully booked, FaraDay Events ran at the following award-winning venues:

  • The Science Museum, London
  • Glasgow Science Centre
  • Magna Science Adventure Centre, Rotherham
  • Royal Naval Base, Portsmouth

Focussed on year 9 students, these action-packed days saw an opportunity for pupils to be involved in science and technology activities and meet pioneering scientists.
