Faraday Team Selection Activity
If you have been confirmed as a Faraday Challenge Day Host School for the 2012-13 season, or if you have been invited to take part at a school or college in your area, this Faraday Team Selection Activity is a great way to create a buzz amongst your students about the STEM subjects and the Faraday Challenge Days.
These short activities include the opportunity for students to design their own mobile phone, and to translate a passage into text-message-code to be able to transmit it as quickly as possible.
The activities can be used as part of the selection process for students to win a position on your school's team prior to the Faraday Challenge Day. Depending on time, you may like to choose one or more of the activities to help select your team. The activities are flexible enough to be run in the classroom or set as homework, and they encourage students to be creative in their responses.
Remember, only six students can make it on the team, and it's not just about who is the strongest in each subject area, but who is creative and able to think outside of the box.
