Keep it short
Your presentation should not be longer than five minutes.
Have a structure
If you want to get your point across you need to structure your presentation properly. Try thinking about what you want to say and ordering your text into these categories: introduction, presenting your idea, selling your idea.
You are the presenter
Keep the presentation lively and engage your audience. You don’t have to use any props, but try to keep your tone of voice exciting and fun. Have a look at your favourite presenters on television. Why do you like them? What makes their presentation style good to watch?
Your props
If you use any props, they should have a purpose. Only use them to illustrate a point. Props could include PowerPoint, images, models, graphics, music – anything really. Be as creative as you like.
Don’t hide behind the PowerPoint
If you use PowerPoint, don’t forget it’s only a prop. We want to see your face, not just slides. You are the presenter.
Sell it to them
Sell your idea. Tell the audience why they need your product or idea. Find one strong argument to convince them then sell sell sell!
Make yourself heard
It’s really important that the sound on your video is clear. You want to be heard don’t you? Double check the audio before you send in your file.
Make it fun
Most of all have fun and be creative filming your presentation. Make this a great experience for yourself, your team and the audience. And don’t forget to vote for your favourite entry (made by someone else!) online.
